As promised...
Here is the pic from us on Splash Mountain. This is the small version. If you want a closer look, click here. :-) Oh ya, beware the size of that link. heh
Good times!
This past weekend my family got to take a couple days and do a family vacation deal. We took a trip down south and visited the happiest place on earth. Had a great time! Hadn't been in 7 years or so. Got to ride almost every coaster. I have a new Splash Mountain pic I need to post but until such time... Oh ya, the ride Pirates of the Caribbean still rocks and is now even better than before!!
Just kewl!
Ok, actions shots from ThinkGeek can be very cool and some times just plain funny. These however, are just fun:

GreenOk, I want one. Anyone want to contribute? hehehe:Sabres
Catching up on the movie list
Received the movie Solaris from my Blockbuster list. I had seen maybe 2 minutes of it on SciFi a few months ago, thought it looked interesting and added it to the list. Got it in the mail, finally decided to watch it. Disc was almost cracked in half. Heh, there's little chance of watching it when it's barely holding together. Anyway, got another copy shipped to me and I just finished it. Interesting flick. Soderbergh is right, it definitely has the feel of an older science fiction movie.
It's a human interest piece; playing with the psyche. The story line isn't bad, interesting and almost prompts me to find the book it's based on. The viewing experience itself it cool. The photography and editing is really good. It's a very quiet film both in sound and feel. It's more of a thought-provoking visual thing. It's nice to watching something slightly off-beat once in a while. I'd recommend at least a one time viewing.
Speed racin'
This past weekend my family got to go the San Jose Grand Prix. It was fun. Nothing like seeing cars race along a SJ downtown street at 178 MPH. Crazy. We got to sit in bleachers this year, a much better vantage point. I'm glad we were fortunate to get these tickets from someone. The race was interesting for more than just the race. There were some "extracurricular" activities that went on during the race... almost felt like I was at a hockey game. :)
Two guys got into it after one of them took out the other's car. Took a turn to get back in the race as the other guy was about to make that turn from the other direction and took the nose of his car off with the back tire. He got thrown out of the race. They have both been penalized. If you go to the link above, there is an article about them. These two have apparently been making contact on the track all season.
Today's lesson: If you're going to cut somebody off (especially taking the nose of the car with you), make sure you speed off out of reach heh.
